This bird feeder is a simple and effective solution to help prevent squirrels from feeding on peanuts intended for garden birds like Blue Tits, Woodpeckers or Nuthatches.
Featuring a wire mesh cylinder to hold peanuts, the feeder can be filled from the top by lifting the metal flip top lid. The lid can be secured with a double-ended S-biner style clip to prevent the squirrel accessing the peanuts.
The mesh peanut holder is encased and protected by an outer cage with an open framework that is accessible only by garden birds and out of reach of squirrels.
This attractive bird feeder is finished in Antique Bronze and includes two feeding ports to help smaller birds perch and access the peanuts safely.
It is important to feed peanuts with a peanut feeder to ensure young or small birds won’t choke on whole peanuts. Peanuts are not suitable for ground feeders or bird tables for this reason.
Suitable for use with a bird feeding station or tree branch. Always choose an easily visible and safe location for the feeder, away from the reach of predators and ideally near a fresh water source for drinking and bathing.
